PSG Trashed Barcelona In The Uefa Champions League
PSG thrashed Barcelona in his home with the help of Magic Mbappe in the Uefa Champions League
Paris St Germain (PSG), with the help of young striker Kylian Mbappe, defeated Spanish club Barcelona in the presence of veteran striker Leon Messi 4–1 in UFC Champions League football final-16 first leg match.
Kylian Mbappe said after winning the match, ‘It was an important match for us. We wanted to win here and we won in our style.
Messi’s performance faded as the 22-year-old Mbappe showed his form and Barcelona had no chance of returning this time.
The PSG team landed on the ground without their main strikers, Neymar and Angel Di Maria, the world’s most expensive footballer and the task of scoring goals lay on Mbappe’s shoulders.
With both players not playing, it was expected that Messi’s team would win at home, but Barcelona manager Ronald Coumen’s team disappointed their fans.
Barcelona scored a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute. Leon Messi scored for the team in the 27th minute on the penalty. He drove the ball to the goal post with the left foot.
However, PSG then made a good comeback and led by a stunning goal by Mbappe in the 32nd and 65th minutes to take a 2–1 lead. After this, Mysis Kin scored in the 70th minute to put PSG ahead 3–1.
After this goal, Mbappe completed his hat-trick with another goal in the 86th minute and gave PSG a stunning 4–1 victory.
Mbappe became the third player in the Champions League to score a hat-trick against Barcelona. The second leg of the two teams will be played in Paris on 20 March.
Barcelona registered a big win over PSG in the same stage of the tournament four years ago. Barcelona then lost 0–4 in the first leg but won the second leg match 6–1.
The defeat is another setback for Barcelona, whose side have not played together after a 2–8 defeat to Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals last year. Everything is not going well for Barcelona since July 2020.
The team lost the La Liga title to Real Madrid. Apart from this, for the first time in 32 years, it is going through such a bad season. Barcelona also lost the Super Cup to Athletic Bilbao.
Liverpool won: English club Liverpool beat RB Leipzig 2–0 in the final-16 first leg match, thanks to goals from Muhammad Salah and Sadio Mane.
Liverpool has been struggling for some time but against the German team Leipzig, they took full advantage of the defenses of the defense and won the match.
Liverpool would have had some relief from this win after falling behind in the title race in the Premier League. Salah took advantage of Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer’s wrong pass in the 53rd minute to give Liverpool the lead.
This is Salah’s seventh goal in seven matches and he now has 24 goals this season.
