PM Security Breach: Supreme Court orders Punjab High Court to keep all records safe, next hearing will be held on Monday.
Supreme Court hearing today in the case of a security lapse during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab.
During the hearing, the CJI said that both the state and the center have formed committees, why not allow both to investigate.
On this, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that the Central Government committee is only investigating the lapse in security.
The Supreme Court said that we are serious about the security of the PM, the state and the center should consider their committee on their own.
The Supreme Court said that the Registrar of Punjab Haryana High Court has been ordered to secure the records. All the information of PM Modi’s route has been asked to be kept safe.
The court also asked the Punjab government, Punjab Police, SPG, and other agencies to provide necessary information to the Registrar General. NIA has also been asked to cooperate.

During the hearing, senior advocate Maninder Singh raised the matter of lapse in the security of the Prime Minister before the bench of Chief Justice NV Ramanna.
During the hearing, Maninder Singh said that this is not just a law and order issue but an issue under the SPG Act.
Maninder Singh said that this is a statutory responsibility. There can be no hesitation in this.
This is a national security issue, not just law and order and the state government has to comply at the statutory level.
He said that this is a very serious matter and there has been a huge lapse in the security of the Prime Minister.
The clear investigation is necessary for this matter, and action is also necessary against the guilty officials.
Singh said that the state government does not have the authority to conduct an inquiry in this matter or in particular the issue related to the SPG Act and the court should conduct an inquiry in this matter.
Canadian terrorist organization Sikh for Justice has also been discussed during the hearing.
Tushar Mehta on behalf of the Center also said that the lapse in the security of the PM, in which both the state government and the police administration were responsible, cannot be investigated by the state government.
It was said that the presence of NIA in the investigation is also necessary.

Chief Justice NV Ramana asked the petitioner’s counsel Mandar Singh to hand over the copy of the petition to the state government and the matter would be heard as the first case on Friday.

The Punjab government, Chief Secretary Anirudh Tiwari, state DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyay, and the Union Home Ministry have been made parties in the petition.

But due to the road blockage, his car was parked on the flyover for 15-20 minutes, and later he had to leave the tour and return.
