Parliament was informed by Central Government on army recruitment: In Parliament, the central government gave a statement regarding recruitment in the army, the youth got assurance.

Recruitment in the Indian Army has been suspended mainly to prevent the spread of corona and the government has not stopped it. Parliament was informed by the Central Government on Monday.

Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt said in reply to a supplementary question in Rajya Sabha that the corona infection has slowed down, but it is not over yet.

A huge crowd comes for recruitment in the Indian Army. Fairs are organized on a large (recruitment) scale for this purpose.

That’s why we have suspended the recruitment process in the army so that the virus does not spread. We haven’t stopped it.

According to a written reply placed in the House, recruitment in the Indian Army remained suspended during 2020-21 and 2021-22 after the pandemic hit India in 2020.

However, as per the reply given in the House, 2,722 persons were recruited in the Indian Navy and 8,423 persons in the Indian Air Force in 2020-21.

Parliament was informed by Central Government on army recruitment: In 2021-22, 5,547 people were recruited in the Indian Navy and 4,609 in the Indian Air Force.

In 2018-19, 53,431 candidates were recruited in the Indian Army, while in 2019-20 the number was 80,572.

The written reply also stated that sufficient recruitment is done to meet the manpower requirements of the Indian Armed Forces.

On the supplementary question regarding the recruitment of women in combat roles in the armed forces, Bhatt said that the provisions of recruitment of women in the armed forces are being followed and other issues (combat roles) are being considered.

NCP member Vandana Chavan had asked a supplementary question on the recruitment of women in combat roles in the Army.
