Pakistan Will Remain In The Gray List Of FATF

Pakistan will remain in the gray list of FATF, it was not expensive to control terrorists, these instructions are given.

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on Thursday retained Pakistan in its gray-list till June. The FATF says that it has failed to fully implement the 27-point action plan for Pakistan.

In particular, it has failed to deal with strategically important deficiencies. The FATF said that Pakistan would have to take action against all the designated terrorists.

Pakistan should punish terrorists.

The Paris-based Financial Action Task Force, FATF, bluntly said that Pakistan’s courts should punish those involved in terrorism with severe punishment.

Also, work should be done towards the effective implementation of financial sanctions.

On the findings of the conference that began on Monday, the FATF said that there were serious flaws in stopping terrorism financing by Pakistan.

Not only this, there is a lack of effective mechanisms to deal with terrorist funding in Pakistan.

Pakistan should overcome the concerns of FATF soon.

Paris-based FATF president Marcus Pueller said the deadline given to Pakistan had already expired. In such a situation, Islamabad should work on resolving the concerns of FATF as soon as possible.

Piler said after the conclusion of the plenary session of the FATF that Pakistan has progressed in all action plans as before and has completed 24 out of 27 actions so far but action against UN-listed terrorists and their allies It is yet to be done.

There should be effective action against terrorists.

The FATF also said that Pakistan’s courts should give effective, decisive, and proportionate punishment to those involved in terrorism.

Pakistan will have to complete three unfinished tasks and once it is completed the FATF will decide on its current status in its plenary session to be held in June.

The statement from the FATF comes at a time when the Pakistani Supreme Court has recently acquitted Omar Saeed Sheikh, the main accused terrorist in the 2002 murder of American journalist Daniel Pearl.

Pakistan makes the system to deal with terrorist funding.

The FATF said that Pakistan should take effective and decisive action against the terrorists and their allies designated by the United Nations.

Pakistan should have an effective system to deal with terrorist funding. Once Pakistan completes three incomplete points of action, we will verify the steps taken on its behalf at the meeting in June.

The FATF also said that Pakistan must complete the incomplete action point as soon as possible.

Pakistan has been showing off in the name of action.

It is known that FATF had put Pakistan on the gray list in June 2018. At the same time, the government of Pakistan was asked to implement the action plan handed down by it to curb money laundering and terrorism financing.

However, this deadline was extended due to the Corona epidemic. In October last year, Pakistan, which was included in the FATF gray-list on issues related to terrorist funding, was asked to implement all 27 points.

But Pakistan acts as a pretender to throw dust in the eyes of the world.

Failed to meet six obligations.

In a meeting held in October last year, the FATF decided to put Pakistan on its ‘gray list’ by February 2021.

The FATF had said that Pakistan had failed to meet six of the 27 obligations of global money laundering and terrorist financing surveillance.

The FATF Action Point also includes taking action against two of India’s most wanted terrorists, Maulana Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed.

Such a decision was already expected.

Masood Azhar is the chief of Jaish-e Mohammed while Hafiz Saeed is commanding the Jamaat-ud-Dawa. Pakistan has been avoiding concrete action against these two terrorists.

At the same time, there has been a demand from India to hand over these terrorists and bring them to the dock of the law. The FATF was not expected to exit the ‘gray list’ already.

Recently, the news agency had said in its report that many countries believe that Pakistan has failed to fully comply with all the points of the action plan laid down by the FATF.
