Pakistan Most Dangerous Country For Journalists

Pakistan most dangerous country for journalists. Pakistan is also included in the 10 most dangerous countries for journalists, know which country is on top.

The non-governmental American organization Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has ranked Pakistan at the ninth position in this year’s Global Immunity Index (GII).

In this global index, countries are included where the murderers and conspirators of journalists are roaming freely or their sentences are waived.

According to Geo News, Pakistan has been a part of the index since its inception in 2008.

Somalia topped the global index.

Syria, Iraq, and South Sudan have a slight difference this time in the index compared to last year, but all three are among the four worst and most dangerous countries for journalists.

Journalists are easily targeted due to the ongoing conflict, political instability, and weak judicial system in these countries.

However, the most recent figures from September 1, 2011, to August 31, 2021, do not accurately reflect the growing threats to journalists in Afghanistan.

This includes Syria, where violent conflict continues and terrorist organizations and groups continue to target media personnel.

278 journalists have lost their lives while working under these conditions. Of these, 226 or 81 percent of the cases have been termed as complete immunity by the CPJ.

That is, in these cases none of the accused was punished. In the last index (September 1, 2010, to August 31, 2020), CPJ had reported that 83 percent of the murders of journalists could not be solved.

Pakistan’s legal system is bad.

On the other hand, according to a ranking released recently, the legal system of Pakistan is very bad.

Financially crippled Pakistan is ranked 130 out of 139 countries in the World Justice Project’s Rule of Law Index 2021 rankings.
