Pak wanted to declare Indian citizen as terrorist in UNSC, but 4 countries rejected.

Pakistan’s conspiracy in the United Nations (UN) was ruined. Pakistan tried to designate an Indian citizen as an international terrorist. This proposal was rejected by 4 other countries including India.

Pakistan claims a person named Gobind Patnaik Duggiwalasa to be a terrorist. Pakistan claims this person has been involved in terrorist attacks against Pakistan.

To declare it an international terrorist, Pakistan had tried to register the name of this person in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Pak wanted to declare Indian citizen: Pakistan has failed before.

In rejecting this proposal of Pakistan, the UK, US, France, and Albania supported India. Among the countries that support India, 3 countries are permanent members of the UNSC.

At the same time, the fourth country, Albania, is the president of the UNSC this month. In 2020 also one such proposal of Pakistan was rejected by all the members.

India’s representative to the UN T.S. Trimurti said in his tweet- ‘Pakistan’s attempt to give religious and political color to the 1267 Special Process on Terrorism has been thwarted by the United Nations Security Council.

China had also banned a proposal.

Last week also, a resolution was tabled in the UNSC. A proposal to include Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki in the 1267 committee was presented.

This proposal was introduced by India and America, but China banned this proposal.

America has placed a reward of 2 million dollars (Rs 15 crore) on Makki, India has also declared Makki a terrorist under UAPA.

What is the 1267 Committee Resolution?

The UNSC 1267 Committee Resolution is also called the UNSC Al Qaeda and Islamic States (ISIS) Resolution. It was approved in 1999.

The first name in this committee was Osama bin Laden and related Al Qaeda and Taliban terrorists.
