Four people were killed when an ONGC helicopter fell into the sea while trying to land on a company rig in the Arabian Sea. Of the four, three were ONGC employees and one was on contract.

The Pawan Hans helicopter had two pilots and seven others on board when it plunged into the sea about 50 nautical miles off the Mumbai coast.

A company official said the helicopter survived for some time with the help of attached floaters, which helped rescuers to rescue all nine people.

He said that four of them were unconscious and were taken to a Naval Tambe at a hospital in Mumbai, where they were declared brought dead.

Earlier on June 1, five Indian smugglers were arrested in Sriganganagar district and cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh and about 6.5 kg of heroin were recovered from them.

This 6 and a half kg heroin was also dropped across the border from Pakistan via drone.
