Novak Djokovic Will Be Allowed To Play In The French Open

Novak Djokovic will be allowed to play in the French Open even after not taking the corona vaccine: French Open 2022.

The organizers of the French Open tennis tournament said on Wednesday that Novak Djokovic will be allowed to play in this Grand Slam tournament.

He will be allowed despite not being vaccinated against Covid-19 if the coronavirus situation in France remains stable.

Russian tennis players, including world number one Daniil Medvedev, will be allowed to compete in the French Open but as neutral players. Russia started a war against Ukraine which led to this decision.

Novak Djokovic will be allowed to play: Organizers said there is currently nothing to stop Djokovic from defending his title at this clay-court Grand Slam.

France this week allowed people not vaccinated to enter sports venues and other venues.

Djokovic was deported from Australia in January after a legal battle for not being vaccinated, which prevented him from taking part in the Australian Open.

French Tennis Federation president Gilles Moreton said Djokovic is free to play now, with French authorities imposing new restrictions if the virus-related situation worsens before the tournament starts on May 22.

All Grand Slams will adopt a tiebreaker of 10 points in the final set.

All four Grand Slam tennis tournaments will now use a 10-point tiebreaker after the score is tied at 6-6 in the final set.

The Grand Slam Board announced its adoption by the Australian, French, US Open, and Wimbledon on a trial basis with immediate effect.

The 10-point tiebreaker is already used at the Australian Open. The French Open is the only Grand Slam that did not use a fixed-point tiebreaker in the deciding set.

Wimbledon set a seven-point tie-breaker after scores 12-12, while the US Open continues to use a seven-point tie-breaker after scores of 6-6.
