New Zealand Test team opener Devan Conway’s Test career could not have started better than this.

He started his Test career against England at the historic ground of Lord’s and played an innings that will always be remembered.

In terms of records, his innings were splendid, as well as the patience and discipline he displayed in his batting against the English team’s bowling attack, proving that he is a long racehorse for the New Zealand cricket team.

Devan Conway got his name in gold letters by scoring a double century in his debut Test match at Lord’s.

No batsman had scored a double century in the first innings while making his debut in the history of Test cricket at this ground to date.

Apart from this, he also achieved the feat of becoming the first batsman to score a double century while making his Test debut in England.

Devan did it amazingly and proved how much talent he has. He scored 200 runs off 347 balls and hit 22 fours and a six during his innings.

He completed his double century by hitting a six. On the basis of this innings Devan, the New Zealand team scored 378 runs in the first innings.

Apart from Devan, Henry Nicholls scored 61 runs for New Zealand while Tom Latham scored 23 runs. Captain Kane Williamson scored 13 runs while Ross Taylor scored 14 runs.

Apart from these, the other batsmen could not do anything special. For England, Ollie Robinson got four while Mark Wood got three and James Anderson got two successes.

Devan Conway became the second player for New Zealand to score a double century in a Test match. Before him, Mathew Sinclair had done this feat in the year 1999.

The amazing thing is that both these players completed their double century only by hitting sixes. Devan Conway became the seventh batsman in the world to score a double century in a Test debut.

While also the third left-handed batsman in the world to score a double century in a Test debut. In the year 2021, he became the second batsman to score a double century in Test cricket.
