New political party, ‘Twenty20’, Emerged In Kerala, declared candidates for five seats in the assembly.

The ‘Twenty20’, an industrial charity-turned political party that has won an impressive victory in the recent civic elections in Kerala’s Ernakulam district, has announced to contest the assembly elections.

On Monday, it announced its candidates for five seats. ‘Twenty20’ surprised political parties by performing well in civic elections

‘Twenty20’ started a few years ago as a development initiative of Anna Kitex Group. It surprised the mainstream political parties by winning four-gram panchayats.

Nine-block panchayat divisions, and two Zilla panchayat divisions in the civic elections held in Ernakulam district in December last year.

Twenty20 ‘declares candidates for five assembly seats

Buoyed by his performance in the civic elections in the district, ‘Twenty20’ chief and Kaitex chairman and managing director Sabu Jacob announced his nominees for the state’s five seats.

Industrialist K.K. Chittilapalli, film actor Srinivasan, and director Siddiqui were also present. A seven-member advisory committee constituted to campaign the party.

Jacob announced a seven-member advisory committee headed by Chittilappally to handle the election campaign of the party. Srinivasan and Siddiqui are members of this committee, but they will not contest.

Results of the Kerala assembly election will come on 2 May.

The Election Commission has announced the schedule of upcoming assembly elections in Assam, Kerala, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry on 26 February.
