New Chief Minister Stalin takes charge, decides to give Rs 4,000 to every family under corona relief: Tamil Nadu.

MK Stalin took charge on Friday after being sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted him.

DMK party chief MK Stalin was sworn in as the Chief Minister by Governor Banwarilal Purohit.

On Thursday, ahead of the swearing-in ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan in Chennai, Stalin announced 34 names for the new cabinet. Party supporters cheered outside the Raj Bhavan in Chennai after the swearing-in.

Soon after taking charge, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin signed an order to provide Rs 4,000 to each family as corona relief. The first installment of Rs 2,000 will be given in the month of May.

33 ministers were sworn in along with Chief Minister MK Stalin. It included 19 former ministers and 15 new faces. Apart from this, two women are also included in the oath-taking.

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Thursday approved the names of legislators proposed by Stalin. Stalin’s full name is Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin, became the first Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from year 2009.

He became the new CM after the victory in the assembly elections with an overwhelming majority. On 28 August 2018, after the death of his father M Karunanidhi, Stalin was unanimously elected as President of the DMK.

DMK returned to power in Tamil Nadu after a full ten years, the DMK won 133 seats this time in the assembly elections.

At the same time, Congress and its other allies got a total of 159 seats in the 234-member assembly.

On the other hand, AIADMK (AIADMK), which has ruled the state for ten years, has won 66 seats while its ally BJP has got 4 and PMK 5.
