National Security Alert: Delhi’s double engine government is set to take tough action against infiltrators & criminals. Amit Shah directs officials to dismantle illegal networks.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah gave the green signal to this roadmap in a meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Home Minister Ashish Sood, Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora and senior officials of the Delhi government and the Union Home Ministry.

The roadmap has full provision to dismantle the illegal network of Rohingya and Bangladeshis, take ruthless action against interstate gangster gangs, as well as listen to and resolve public problems at the police station level.

Action will be taken against infiltrators

Amit Shah said that Delhi’s double engine government will work at double the speed for a developed Delhi-safe Delhi as per the expectations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on dealing with the problem of illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltration to make Delhi safe.

He said that strict action should be taken against police stations and sub-divisions that consistently perform poorly. Shah made it clear that eliminating them should be Delhi’s priority and action will have to be taken against them with full ruthlessness. Similarly, he directed to work with a top-down and bottom-to-top approach in the case of drug smuggling. He said that in any case, the entire network associated with it will have to be traced and destroyed.

For decades, there was a rule in Delhi to take permission from Delhi Police for any construction. Amit Shah asked to end it immediately. Shah gave clear instructions that permission from Delhi Police should not be required in matters related to construction in Delhi.

Similarly, to ensure hearing of public complaints related to law and order, Amit Shah directed DCP level officers to go to police station level and set up public hearing camps and asked them to resolve the problems of the public immediately. At the same time, new security committees will be formed for the safety of women and children in slum clusters, in which, along with police officers, local people will also participate.

Jams and waterlogging will be resolved

Amit Shah took the delay in the hearing of the 2020 Delhi riots seriously and asked to take steps to complete it soon. For the early settlement of these cases, the Delhi government will appoint a special prosecutor. Shah also directed to start the process of recruitment to additional posts in Delhi Police soon.

The problem of daily traffic jams and waterlogging during monsoon was also discussed in the meeting. Shah directed the Delhi Police to identify the places where there is daily traffic jam and asked the Delhi Police Commissioner and Chief Secretary to find an immediate solution to this. He asked the Delhi government to prepare a ‘Monsoon Action Plan’ to identify the places of waterlogging and deal with it.
