Modi govt transferred funds directly to beneficiaries’ accounts in 351 schemes. Modi govt saved 1.70 lakh crores from being a victim of corruption.
The government has benefited from the public as well as the public by sending funds of government schemes directly to the beneficiaries through Jan Dhan accounts.
Along with benefiting more people in various welfare schemes, the government has also saved 1.70 lakh crore rupees. Earlier this money used to be a victim of corruption and its money was distributed among middlemen.
The beneficiaries and the government benefited from the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of the Center. Through this, in 351 schemes of 51 ministries, the beneficiaries were given funds in their bank accounts.
JAM Trinity made DBT more effective through Jan Dhan-Aadhar-Mobile. Due to all this, the government’s money reached the hands of the public directly. During the last six years of the Modi government, Rs 12,95,568 crore was transferred to the beneficiaries’ accounts through DBT.
In the year 2020-21, Rs 2,10,244 crore was disbursed to the MNREGA, Public Distribution System, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and others. People working in MNREGA were given job cards and their bank accounts were linked to Aadhaar.
Along with this, the action was taken against all the fake beneficiaries. As of December 2019, 5.55 lakh fake laborers have been excluded from the scheme. This saved Rs 24,162 crore and the right laborers could get work and wages.
Similarly, 98.8 lakh fake beneficiaries were caught taking advantage of schemes of the Ministry of Child and Women Welfare. This resulted in a saving of Rs 1,523.75 crore. The addition of Aadhaar and mobiles saved more than Rs 66 thousand crores in the ration distribution system.
Earlier, the middlemen used to lick the ration of this amount and the government and the public suffered losses. The government found that this work was done through 2.98 crore fake ration card holders.
