Military officers paid tribute to martyrs at the war memorial in Dras: 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas. Indian Army is celebrating the 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas today.

A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras on Tuesday morning to pay tribute to the soldiers who died in the Kargil War of 1999.

Senior military officers paid tribute to the immortal martyrs of the Kargil war here.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the three army chiefs paid tribute to the martyrs of the 1999 Kargil War at the National War Memorial in the capital Delhi.

Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, after paying tribute to the martyrs of the Kargil War at Dras War Memorial, said, “The whole country bows before the valor and victory of the Indian Army.

Through Kargil Vijay Diwas, we remember his sacrifice with a sense of gratitude.

I assure the countrymen that every soldier of the Indian Army is dedicated to the security of the country and is always ready to face any challenge and make any sacrifice.

The Kargil peaks, a symbol of extraordinary valor, will resonate with the tales of the valor of the martyrs on the 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas today.

The spirit of patriotism is speaking loudly in Dras. The courage of the soldiers of the army is also high after finding the relatives of the heroes and sacrificers who climbed the peaks of Kargil.

Let us tell you that in the year 1999, on 26th July, India won the Kargil war over Pakistan, in memory of which this date is celebrated every year as Vijay Diwas.

Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army’s Northern Command, paid homage to the martyrs on Tuesday at the Dras War Memorial decorated with flowers.

After this, army helicopters showered flowers from the sky at the Kargil War Memorial.

In this, along with the officers of the 14th Corps, who took charge of the security of Ladakh, the officers of the Ladakh administration also participated.

Let us tell you that the three-day Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations started on 24 July. On this day, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was also present among the army personnel in Jammu and Kashmir.

On the second day i.e. 25th July, on reaching Lamochan View Point of Dras along with Army Commander in Kargil, Veer Naris, Veer Matas, Kargil War Heroes brought back memories of the war fought 23 years ago.

At Lamochan, when the heroes pointed towards the peaks and narrated the tales of the extraordinary valor of the comrades who sacrificed their lives to conquer them, the eyes of the heroes and brave mothers filled with tears.
