Mehbooba Mufti Has Refused To Meet Delimitation Commission

Mehbooba Mufti has refused to meet Delimitation Commission. Mehbooba is desperate to become a hero amidst saving a lost existence in Kashmir.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has refused to meet with the Delimitation Commission. This has not surprised much in Jammu and Kashmir.

It was almost decided in the meeting of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) last Sunday that PDP President Mehbooba Mufti may take a different route in the matter of meeting the Delimitation Commission.

She has questioned the legitimacy of the commission, but throughout this exercise, she seems to be trying to keep the PDP alive in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir while protecting herself.

She is seeking the status of martyr and hero by proving herself as the iron lady of Kashmir.

In this endeavor, she and her party are seen standing completely apart from the land and the people.

The Delimitation Commission has been constituted under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act 2019. The commission is to submit its report to the central government on or before March 2022.

Only then will the assembly elections be held. All the political parties associated with mainstream politics including PDP are demanding a government elected by the people in the state.

We demand full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir soon.

These parties also include those who do not approve of the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir.

The kind of steps Mehbooba Mufti has taken after her release in October last year, it is clear that she is adopting an aggressive stance, but is moving forward on the defensive.

She understands the reality of the new Jammu and Kashmir but refuses to adopt.

Due to her autocratic attitude and kitchen cabinet, the old soldiers of the PDP were forced to leave the organization and make a new hideout.

After her release, she has said on every platform that the PDP has refused to bow down to Delhi, so its leaders are being tortured.

During this, she stood herself apart from the line of separatists and also said that she believes in the Indian Constitution and is seeking her rights from the Indian Constitution itself.

If she does not tell Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will she tell Pakistan.

Her own statement became a throat snarl: After August 5, 2019, all the old slogans have become irrelevant in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir.

The majority of the vote bank of the PDP, which belongs to the fundamentalist section, is also angry with her. Her statements made in the context of Article 370 remain the snares of her neck.

That is why she does not want that she should appear weak in public or there is an allegation of compromise with Delhi.

Because she has been calling her opponents, including the National Conference, a slave of Delhi, and an agent of the BJP.

It is a different matter that the PDP formed a coalition government along with the BJP. Presently, Mehbooba seems completely isolated.

Also, understand the politics of Mehbooba: Mehbooba repeatedly talks about the release of political prisoners in order to keep her vote bank and PDP in politics.

They know that sooner or later when these people are released, it will be said that the PDP had made an effort. Many PDP leaders are also in jail at this time.

Mehbooba herself and her relatives are under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate. That is why she wants to get rid of all this by putting pressure on the center in some way.

In this whole process, she is trying to gather the sympathy of Kashmiris.

At the same time, trying to prove that other parties who are no doubt a part of PAGD with her have bowed before Delhi, but she has not bowed down.

Apart from this, the way he handed over the command of PAGD to Dr. Farooq Abdullah, it is clear that if PAGD makes any agreement, then it will be on Farooq and when she herself is uncomfortable.

Then distance herself from the decision of the alliance. Mehbooba has proved this by refusing to meet with the Delimitation Commission.

Why this option was not adopted: If there was a question of the legitimacy of the Delimitation Commission, the PDP could have met the commission and said this.

She could have challenged it in court also, but nothing happened. Mehbooba had nothing to say to the Delimitation Commission.

She wants to take advantage of it in the same way as she tried to do after the all-party meeting.
