Meat Shops Will Remain Closed In Bengaluru On Janmashtami

Meat shops will remain closed in Bengaluru Karnataka on the occasion of Janmashtami, BBMP orders.

The Brihat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has issued a notice for the closure of meat shops on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami on Monday (August 30).

An order in Kannada issued by the BBMP said, “The meat shops will remain closed on Monday, August 30, on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami.”

The BBMP has earlier also issued a public notice on this occasion and ordered a ban on animal slaughter and sale of meat. Let us tell you that on Janmashtami, people keep fast and go to temples for prayers.

It is believed that Shri Krishna, who is the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was born on earth in Dwapara Yuga to restore peace and bring religion to faith.

His birth is celebrated as Janmashtami, also known as Gokulashtami. Janmashtami is usually celebrated on the eighth or Ashtami of Krishna Paksha in the month of Shravan or Bhadrapada.
