Manoj Sinha is new Lt Governor of J&K, counted among the prominent faces of BJP in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Manoj Sinha, who was the Minister of State for Railways and Communications in the first term of the Narendra Modi government, has now been given a major position once again.

After Manoj Sinha, Lok Sabha MP from Ghazipur lost elections in 2019, there were speculations that the party would send him to the Rajya Sabha, but now he has been made the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.

Manoj Sinha, who was very active during his tenure as Minister of State for Railways and Minister of State for Communications (Independent Charge), was also involved in the race to become the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 2017.

Manoj Sinha is a resident of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. He also made this district his karmabhoomi and he is counted among the prominent faces of the Bharatiya Janata Party of Eastern India. There are such discussions about Manoj Sinha that he is one of the most trusted leaders of PM Narendra Modi.

The journey from student politics to parliament

Manoj Sinha studied BTech and MTech from Kashi Hindu University, Varanasi. He became the President of the Students’ Union there in 1982. Since then, his political journey has moved forward.

He was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1996 from Ghazipur and won again in 1999. Sinha was a member of the BJP’s National Council from 1989 to 1996.

He again became an MP from Ghazipur during the BJP’s 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He has since been the Minister of State for Railways and later was also given the independent charge of the Ministry of Communications.

Apart from using the reach as a Union Minister, the people of Ghazipur know him for development besides assuming the charge of independent charge of the Department of Communications and Minister of State for Railways.

Now he has established itself as a strong pillar of BJP in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, not just Ghazipur. In 2019, strongman Manoj Sinha was defeated by Afzal Ansari, brother of BSP-SP joint candidate Mukhtar Ansari.

Manoj Sinha was born on 1 July 1959 in Mohanpura (Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh). He did BTech and MTech in Civil Engineering from Banaras Hindu University.

On 1 May 1977, Manoj Sinha married Neelam Sinha of Bhagalpur (Bihar). Manoj Sinha has a daughter who is married and the son is working in a telecom company. Manoj Sinha’s hobby is also farming. Their attachment has always been towards backward villages.

He is known as an honest leader in politics. Manoj Sinha is one of the honest leaders who have used cent percent of their MP funds for the development of the people.

Significantly, on August 5, ie, Wednesday, last week, Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir, a year was completed. Meanwhile, there was news of GC Murmu’s resignation on Wednesday evening. The resignation of GC Murmu has been accepted by the President.
