Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, in a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, has asked to prove the majority by convening a special session of the state legislature on June 30 at 11 am.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Devendra Fadnavis along with 8 independent MLAs on Tuesday submitted a letter to the Governor of Maharashtra demanding an immediate floor test.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had appealed to the rebel MLAs to come for talks. ‘Don’t fall for someone’s wrongdoings.

The respect given to you by Shiv Sena cannot be found anywhere. If you come forward and speak, we will sort out the issues.

As Shiv Sena party chief and head of the family, I am still concerned about you. Come here for conversation.

Let us tell you that the political tussle between Shiv Sena and the rebel faction led by Eknath Shinde in Maharashtra has now reached the Supreme Court.

The petition, filed by the split camp, has challenged the disqualification proceedings against Shinde and 15 other rebel MLAs.

Sources said on Monday, “The rebel MLAs of Maharashtra are likely to stay for longer periods at Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati, Assam.

The hotel was booked till July 5 and now bookings can be extended as per the requirement.

On Monday, Shinde had filed a separate petition in the apex court seeking the security of MLAs who challenged party chief and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

A bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice JB Pardiwala heard the petitions on Monday.

After the Supreme Court adjourned the disqualification proceedings of the rebel MLAs till July 11, Eknath Shinde tweeted, “This is a victory for Balasaheb Thackeray’s Hindutva and Anand Dighe’s ideas.”

Notably, the Shiv Sena’s national executive meeting on June 25 passed six resolutions giving Maharashtra Chief Minister and party president Uddhav Thackeray full authority to take action against rebels to bring the rebellion under control within the party.

The meeting was called in the wake of a rebellion by Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde, which has not only destabilized the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in the state but also threatens Thackeray to lose control of the party.
