Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who on Friday conversed with Assam chief minister Sarbanada Sonowal and assessed the current flood circumstance, declared an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the closest relative of people who lost their lives.

The flood circumstance has improved in Lakhimpur, Sivasagar, Bongaigaon, Hojai, Udalguri, Majuli, and West Karbi Anglong areas.

An authority of ASDMA said the flood-hit areas are – Dhemaji, Biswanath, Chirang, Darrang, Nalbari, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, South Salmara, Goalpara, Kamrup, Kamrup (Metro), Morigaon, and Tinsukia.

“Around 11 lakh individuals in 1,412 towns were kept on hitting by the rainstorm floods and more than 53,348 hectares of yield territories were seriously influenced because of the floods. Around 6,531 individuals, including ladies kids, despite everything shielded in 171 alleviation camps,” an ASDMA official said.

On the whole, in any event 8,91,897 different pet (residential) creatures and 8,01,233 poultry were influenced because of the current influx of floods.
