Andy Murray was knocked out of Wimbledon in the second round, he became a victim of a vicious circle: Wimbledon 2022.

Britain’s star tennis player Andy Murray had to face defeat in the second round at Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the year.

Andy Murray had to face defeat in 4 sets against John Isner in the men’s singles match at the All England Club on Wednesday. He was defeated by the 20th seeded American 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-7(3), 6-4.

Before Andy Murray, another host country’s top player and defending US Open champion Emma Raducanu also suffered a 3-6, 3-6 straight-set loss to France’s Caroline Garcia in the second round of women’s singles.

Murray became Britain’s first men’s singles champion in 77 years to win the Wimbledon title in 2013. He then won the Wimbledon singles title once more in 2016.

On the last 13 occasions, Murray had always managed to make at least the third round of Wimbledon. He made his debut in 2005 and had to face defeat in the third round in 2021.

Isner will take on 10th seed Yanik Sinner in the third round. In the men’s section on Wednesday, three-time defending champion Novak Djokovic and fifth seed Carlos Alcarez were able to register a win.

But French Open runner-up third seed Casper Roode was defeated by Humbert 3-6, 6-2, 7-5, 6-4.

15th seed Riley Opelka was also defeated by Tim van Rithoven 6-4, 6-7 (8), 7-6 (7), 7-6 (4).

Apart from 10th seed Radukanu, second seed Annette Kontaveit also suffered a 4-6, 0-6 loss to Germany’s Juke Niemeyer.

Greet Mini defeated 2017 champion ninth seed Garbine Muguruza 6-4, 6-0.

In the women’s section, 2021 runner-up Karolina Pliskova, eighth seed Jessica Pegula, three-time majors champion Angelique Kerber and 2017 French Open champion Yelena Ostapenko were able to register victories.
