Lakhs of devotees are expected in Vrindavan during the Independence Day and Janmashtami weekend. With hotels and ashrams fully booked, police and administration brace for traffic and crowd control challenges at Thakur Banke Bihari temple and other holy sites.
Lakhs of devotees are expected to come, district administration and police fire test over the weekend. Crowd control is a challenge for the district administration due to the increasing number of devotees at the Thakur Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan. A huge crowd of devotees is likely to flock to the country due to Independence Day, Janmashtami, and Sunday holidays. Hotels and ashrams are almost fully booked, making it tough for the police to maintain traffic and security arrangements.
The district administration has completely failed in crowd control due to the continuous increase in the number of devotees in the city of Thakur Banke Bihari. But now the three-day consecutive holidays are going to increase the headache of the police and administration.
After Independence Day on Friday, August 15, on Saturday, Shri Krishna Janmashtami, and then on Sunday, people from various cities of the country have decided to camp in Vrindavan for three days. Bookings at hotel guesthouses are almost full. So whether it’s about crowd control in the city or the exercise of keeping traffic smooth. This weekend is going to be a tough challenge for the district administration and police.
Lakhs of Devotees Expected in Vrindavan: Devotees from different states will come to Vrindavan
Devotees from various provinces across the country will camp in Mathura and Vrindavan on the occasion of Lord Krishna’s birth anniversary. Devotees from Delhi, NCR, and surrounding states will also reach Vrindavan in private vehicles to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami on Saturday, after Independence Day on Friday. For this, devotees have booked for stay in hotels, guesthouses, and ashrams in the city.
The city’s famous guesthouses, including Fogla Ashram, Dhanuka Guesthouse, Sukhdham, and Janmashtami Ashram, are almost full of bookings. While even in big hotels, devotees are constantly making their bookings. Rooms are being booked for devotees in ashrams.
Expectations of millions of devotees
The number of devotees is expected to reach into the lakhs this weekend. Getting their vehicles parked in parking lots outside the city will prove to be the biggest challenge for the police. Devotees will travel from one temple to another to attend the celebrations of Shri Krishna Janmashtami in various temples of the city, and it will be a tough challenge to keep traffic in the market or the busiest areas.
The bus will run continuously, and will sing bhajans in Kanha’s devotion
Devotees from all over the country and the world will come on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The buses will be operated continuously by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. Bhajans in buses will immerse devotees in devotion. Preparations are also being made by the railways. The distance between the two trains has been extended. More trains are yet to be run. GRP and RPF have also started security preparations. Shri Krishna Janmashtami is on 16th August.
The wind of faith blows in Braj on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Devotees come from all over the country. Thousands of devotees will also arrive by bus and train. The transport corporation will operate buses continuously. Buses will be operated on the route on which the bus is required.
- The corporation has 176 buses in its fleet. Buses will run continuously on Agra, Hathras, Aligarh, Bareilly, Jaipur, and Delhi routes.
- Kanha’s bhajans will continue to be played in buses. Devotees will also dance in devotion to Kanha in buses.
- Railways have also started preparations for Shrikrishna Janmashtami.
- Kasganj-Mathura Cantonment-Kasganj has been extended to Gangapur City till August 20.
- The second train, Kasganj-Mathura Cantonment-Kasganj, has been extended to Achnera.
- Other trains will also be operated right now.
- RPF has demanded a company RPSF and 50 personnel for security.
- The GRP has demanded 150 personnel.
- ARM MM Sharma informed that buses will be operated continuously on Janmashtami. Leave of drivers-operators will be cancelled.
- From August 15 to 17, buses will be instructed to play bhajans of Lord Krishna.
