Kashmir and Kashmiris are being destroyed by terrorism: Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh said. On Saturday, a day after Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha appealed to errant youths to return to the mainstream, the Director-General of Police also asked local terror-turned-youths to join the mainstream.

He said that nothing will be gained from terrorism and violence, only Kashmir and Kashmiris are being destroyed by this. After inaugurating the Handwara Premier League organized by the police in Handwara, North Kashmir, Dilbag Singh also assured to take all possible steps to refine the sporting talent of the youth and protect them from anti-national elements.

He said that we have to make Kashmir peaceful and happy again. We all have to work together for this.He himself started his career in the police organization like the police station in-charge at Handwara. Due to terrorism, this area has lagged behind. He said that no one’s death can be celebrated and terrorism has ruined many families and Kashmiri society here.

Three cricket teams will be formed in Kashmir

Referring to the players who took part in the competition, he said that he wants all these youth to become messengers of peace and prosperity in Kashmir. Police is organizing sports competitions all over the state, especially in the Valley.

Like Handwara, other parts of the Wadi will have such cricket competitions and based on them, three teams from South, Central and North Kashmir will be selected. These teams will go to play in India and abroad.

Apart from senior officers of the police and the army, prominent cricketers from the valley Parvez Rasool and Manzoor Pandav were also present on the occasion. Director-General of Jammu and Kashmir Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said on Friday that there has been a decrease in incidents related to terrorism in the Union Territory.

Not only this, the overall law and order have improved a lot this year as compared to last year. He attributed this to the youth of Kashmir. People here are happy with the improving situation in Kashmir. Especially the youth here have now understood the futility of violence and violent acts.

This is the reason that today the youth of our state are shining in the civil services examinations not only in Jammu and Kashmir but also at the country level. DGP Dilbag Singh said that the youth participating in sports activities at the national and international levels have also brought laurels to the state. He spoke to reporters after attending the main function held at Police Headquarters on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
