Let us inform you that a Chinese company Shandong Electric Power Construction Corporation (Sepco) got the contract from Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL) to set up a power plant in Mansa, Punjab.

SEPCO desperately needed to bring in additional Chinese experts to avoid delays in power plant construction and fines for failure to complete the work on time.

But visas for such companies issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs SEPCO were unable to bring in specialists due to a limited number of workers.

In such a situation, TSPL Vice President Vikas Makharia contacted S Bhaskar Raman, a close aide of P Chidambaram. Bhaskar Raman assured to get the work done in lieu of Rs 50 lakh.

After that 263 experts of the Chinese company were granted visas.

After this, an amount of Rs 50 lakh was sent to Mumbai-based company Bell Tools Limited through fake invoices and from there the amount reached Bhaskar Raman and Karti Chidambaram.
