Voting has started for the second phase of gram panchayat elections in Karnataka today or Sunday. The enthusiasm of the people has not diminished even in winter.
People are casting their votes by reaching polling stations.
According to election officials, a total of 2,709 panchayats of 109 talukas are voting in the state. 1,05,431 candidates are in the fray for 39,378 seats.
More than 20,728 booths will vote from 7 am to 5 pm.
According to media reports, a total of 3,697 candidates have already been elected unopposed. Panchayat elections are being held here due to the Corona epidemic.
So those who are infected with corona or have come in contact with infected patients have been allowed to vote in the last hour of voting.

People cast their votes by reaching the polling station in Kudi village of Kalaburagi district in the morning.
On the other hand, people cast their votes in the polling booth of Kudigere village in Sagar taluk of Shivamogga district.

In view of the corona epidemic, hand sanitizers have been provided at all polling booths.
According to the report, the number of voters in each booth has been reduced from 1,500 to 1,000. Polling booths have been attached to Anganwadi, ASHA workers and Health Department officials.
Karnataka: JDS leader Kumaraswamy supported agricultural laws
While the BJP is facing opposition from some of its own partner parties regarding the agricultural laws, the Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) of the opposition camp has supported it.
JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy told the farmers that they should experiment with new agricultural laws with open thinking.
Kumaraswamy also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to end this stalemate.
He said that the movement of farmers is damaging the country’s image internationally. He also called for proper coordination between the Center and the farmers for this.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy said that the new hope of resolving the deadlock was raised by the statement of Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
