Jammu Kashmir Elections 2024: BJP shakes up its candidate list for Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024, cutting the tickets of 6 former ministers and 2 ex-MLAs, including former Deputy CM Nirmal Singh. Discover the full list of leaders who didn’t make the cut and their reactions.

All the parties are working hard for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also seen in its new form. By Tuesday, the party has released its third list of 29 candidates. In this, the ticket of strong leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh has also been cut. Along with this, the party has given preference to new faces over 5 former ministers and 2 MLAs. It is known that the first list of 44 candidates was released, but after heavy opposition in the party office, the list was withdrawn within just 2 hours. The party has released a list of 45 candidates so far.

Before the third list of BJP on Tuesday, many old strong leaders were expected to get tickets. But, surprising everyone, the party has cut the tickets of many former ministers and MLAs. Reasi candidate and former minister Ajay Nanda’s ticket has been cut. In his place, the party has fielded Kuldeep Raj Dubey. He used to contest from the Billawar assembly seat.

Jammu Kashmir Elections 2024: Bali Bhagat’s ticket cut

BJP has also cut the ticket of former minister Bali Bhagat. He used to contest from the Jammu North assembly seat. The party has fielded Shyam Lal Sharma in his place. Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Shyam Chaudhary will also not be able to contest the election because Una assembly seat Sachet Garh has been reserved for SC. Therefore, the BJP has fielded Garu Ram Bhagat from here. At the same time, the party has fielded Badalve Raj Sharma from Vaishno Devi seat.
