INS Tarkash Completes Exercise With Moroccan Navy

INS Tarkash completes exercise with the Moroccan Navy, sets sail for South America, and enters the Atlantic: INS Tarkash.

The Indian Navy on Friday said its guided missile frigate, INS Tarkash, completed its Mediterranean deployment and entered the Atlantic to continue its long-range voyage.

According to the Navy, the ship participated in a maritime partnership exercise in the Atlantic with Royal Morocco Naval Ship Hassan 2, a Floreal class corvette, on 26 July.

The exercises carried out included man overboard drills, visit board searches and seizure operations, replenishment approaches at sea, tactical maneuvers, and helicopter cross deck landings.

INS Tarkash is on a visit to South America to visit Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for unfurling the National Flag on 15 August 2022 as part of the Amrit Festival of Independence.

INS Tarkash completes exercise with the Moroccan Navy: INS Tarkash also conducted exercises on the island of Sardinia, Italy.

Earlier as part of its deployment to the Mediterranean Sea, INS Tarkash participated in a maritime engagement exercise with FNS Commandant Birot on 19 July 2022, west of the Sardinia Islands, Italy.

The exercise included replenishment approaches, communication exercises, VBSS operations, cross-deck visits, and sea boat operations.

As part of the cross-deck tour, Commanding Officer Captain R Palreau of FNS Commandant Birot boarded INS Tarkash and interacted with Captain Abraham Samuel, Commanding Officer, INS Tarkash.

The personnel of INS Tarkash also visited the French warship and interacted with the ship’s crew. The cross-visits helped the crew gain insight into the operations carried out by both ships.

India and Japan did a partnership exercise MPX in the Andaman Sea.

A Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) was conducted between the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force and the Indian Navy in the Andaman Sea on 23 July.

According to the Defense Ministry, INS Sukanya, an offshore patrol vessel, and JS Samidare, a Murasem-class destroyer, conducted various exercises including seamanship activities, aircraft operations, and tactical maneuvers as part of operational interactions.

The two countries have been conducting regular exercises in the Indian Ocean region to strengthen maritime ties.

The aim of the exercise was to enhance interoperability and streamline seamanship and communication processes.
