Indian retailers group demands Amazon ban, protests after revelations from Amazon documents.

A major group of Indian retailers on Wednesday urged the government to ban the local operations of Amazon.com Inc.

In fact, after Amazon preferred only a few vendors for trade in India, the country’s retailers have come out on the protest.

Some Reuters documents have come out in the Reuters report that mentions that the legendary online platform deceived Indian regulators and created a secret strategy.

These documents are from 2012 to 2019. It has written such things that the Narendra Modi government, small and big retail traders, big local companies, and industry will not like it.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), representing 8 million retail stores in India, said in a statement that Reuters’ report is staggering, therefore Amazon operations in India should be immediately banned.

The group asked Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal to immediately take a decision on the ban on Amazon’s operations in India.

However, Amazon has not given any reply to the statement of the merchant group. But after continued opposition from CAIT.

Amazon retweeted the Reuters report, saying that we criticized the report and that the Reuters report was incomplete, factually incorrect.

It said that Amazon complies with Indian laws. He did not respond when contacted by a spokesperson of India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry on the matter.

According to the disclosures made by Reuters, two-thirds of the total online sales in India through Amazon’s website are in the hands of just 35 sellers.

It is known that at present, Amazon is also in dispute with Reliance Industries and Future Group. This matter is going on in court.

In four metros of the country, petrol and diesel are being sold in Kolkata for Rs 91.11 and Rs 83.86 per liter.

Petrol in Mumbai has been priced at 96.32 and diesel at Rs 87.32 per liter. Petrol and diesel prices in Chennai are 91.98 and 85.31 per liter respectively.
