America has permitted to sale of MQ-9B Predator drones to India.

Now America has started this defense deal. America has said that 31 drones will be sold to India at an estimated cost of about $4 billion, which will increase their maritime security.

US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said that we believe that this sale will provide India with maritime security and maritime awareness capabilities.

He said that this defense deal will give India full ownership of these aircraft and we will continue to deepen cooperation with our Indian partners in this area.

Why are 31 state-of-the-art drones important?

Let us inform you that India has decided to purchase 31 MQ-9B armed drones from America to increase the surveillance capabilities of its armed forces.

Out of which the Navy will get 15 Sea-Guardian drones. Apart from this, the Army and Air Force will get eight Sky-Guardian drones each.

It is noteworthy that the US had last week approved the sale of 31 MQ-9B armed drones to India at an estimated cost of US $ 3.99 billion.

This will enhance India’s capability to deal with present and future threats through unmanned surveillance and reconnaissance patrolling of sea lanes.

This drone deal was announced during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to America in June 2023.
