Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Quatra met Nepal’s Foreign Minister Pradeep Giwali on Tuesday in Kathmandu and handed over medicines to him. Before this, ventilators and medicines have been sent to Nepal

India had earlier sent ventilators and medicines via the Sonali border to Nepal. Ambassador Vinay Mohan Quatra told reporters that the use of these medicines will be useful for patients suffering from serious diseases. These drugs will also be used for people infected with corona.

Onion laden trucks stuck on the border

On the other hand, onion exports to Nepal have been banned by the Indian government after onion prices have increased in India. After this, onion trucks are stuck on the border. Traders Akeel Ahmed, Jesus, Puneet, Jiahwan, and Shanu Khan said that the government should have informed the traders before banning onion exports.

So that he would not have reserved the order for Nepal export of onion. The sudden ban on exports to about 200 truck onions sent to Nepal has caused significant damage.

Traders sought concession

Traders say that if the onion laden truck reached the border is allowed to go to Nepal, the loss of businessmen will be reduced. The Deputy Commissioner of Sonauli, Shashank Yadav said that after the order came, the entry of onion laden trucks on the Sonauli border has been banned. All trucks are being repatriated from the border.

Now India-Nepal border will remain sealed till 16 October

In view of the rising outbreak of Corona virus, the Government of Nepal has extended the period of stay of Indo-Nepal border till 16 October. The Indo-Nepal border is sealed since last March. Only cargo vehicles and Nepalese citizens are allowed entry into Nepal. The Nepal government has relaxed the lockdown in the metropolitan cities of Nepal with some conditions.

In the past, the Government of Nepal had indicated the opening of the Nepal border from 17 September. The people of the border area were waiting impatiently, but then they have felt despondent for a period of one month.

Nepal Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali said that the Government of Nepal has given instructions to seal Nepal’s border with India by 12 noon on 16 October. During this time, the movement of people will be completely closed, as the movement of cargo vehicles will be allowed as before.
