Income tax raid at Damoh’s liquor businessman’s house, 3 kg gold and silver ornaments seized with 9 crore cash.

The raids by the Income Tax Department on 12 locations of Damoh’s transport and liquor businessman Shankar Rai and his brothers ended late on Friday night.

The team of officers left for their respective destinations. The things that have come to light so far include the seizure of nine crore rupees in cash and 3 kg of gold and silver jewelry from the Rai family.

At the same time, it is being said to get Rs 5.30 crore from Shankar Rai, Rs 2 crore from Kamal Rai, Rs 30 lakh from Raju Rai, and Rs 1.25 crore from Sanjay Rai.

Apart from this, nine weapons kept illegally by his family have also been confiscated.

The information about all the weapons in his family’s name has also been sought by the Income Tax Department from the district administration.

At the same time, two different videos are going viral in this case, in which one is seen taking out a bag full of notes from the water tank made in the house of the Rai family.

While in the other video these fallen notes are being pressed and pressed by a machine.

It is being shown drying out, after which it was being speculated that both these videos are related to the Rai family.

But this was not confirmed nor is being confirmed by any officer of the Income Tax Department.

Apart from this, the officials of the Income Tax Department have also sought information from the municipality about the properties in the name of the Rai family in 39 wards of the city.

During the raid, it has been told by the Income Tax Department officials that many documents and records of Benami property have been recovered,

These documents are being confiscated and taken to the Jabalpur office of the Income Tax Department. From where will be investigated and this process will continue for a long time.

The Income Tax action on the Rai family for two days has been completed at the field level. Now the verification of documents will be done from the Jabalpur office itself.

Income tax raid at the house of tobacco dealer in Varanasi.

A team of Income Tax Department officials raided the house of Varanasi-based tobacco businessman Laxmikant Pandey on charges of tax evasion.

Pandey is also known as ‘Pummy’. He is the owner of Aashiqui brand gutkha and runs his office in Varanasi, where the raids began on Friday night.

The brand is well known in Western Uttar Pradesh and Pandey supplies its products in Lucknow, Jaunpur, and Pratapgarh.

IT officials said they had received information that several companies were involved in allegations of tax evasion in the pandemic.

In this matter, after discussion with the higher officials, a team of officers of the department was constituted for the raids. Investigation revealed that Pandey was also running a private school.

He had taken the franchise of the private school which he had allegedly not shown in his IT filings.
