Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has been put on backfoot on the Kashmir issue, has made a new move to fulfill his nefarious plans POK. Imran has announced the grant of temporary province status to Gilgit Baltistan.
This attempt by Imran is no more than a trick because India has already made it clear that no attempt to change the situation of POK will be accepted.
According to reports, Imran on Sunday announced the granting of interim province status to Gilgit Baltistan. Actually, the Government of Pakistan has been in the process of changing the situation in Gilgit Baltistan for some time.
In this effort, Imran had also announced to hold elections here in the past, on which India had protested. Imran had said that Gilgit-Baltistan would be given constitutional rights and elections would be held in November.
Significantly, the government of Imran Khan has started getting a challenge on Gilgit-Baltistan. The people of slave Kashmir have risen against the government of Pakistan.
Protests are taking place there on the day. Recently, Saudi Arabia also removed slave Kashmir from Pakistan’s map, including Gilgit Baltistan, supporting India’s stand. This caused a stir in the political circles of Pakistan.
Demonstrations started there with the rumor of making Gilgit Baltistan a province.
On October 8, there were massive protests led by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and Student Liberation Front to protest the decision.
At present, Imran Khan is facing heavy opposition in Ghulam Kashmir. In such a situation, Imran’s decision to grant temporary province status will give more air to the protests there.
