ICC recommends a six-team competition for the 2028 Olympics.

ICC remains hopeful that cricket will be included in the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028 and has proposed a six-team T20 event for men and women to the Games Organizing Committee.

According to reports, a decision on the inclusion of cricket will be made by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in October.

This will then be ratified at the IOC session in Mumbai, which is expected to be approved around October this year.

In a strategic move, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has been included in the ICC Olympic Task Force, chaired by ICC President Greg Barclay and consisting of Indira Nooyi and Parag Maratha.

Shah was introduced with India’s ambition to host the Olympics in 2036.

Along with cricket, eight other sports compete for inclusion in the program: Baseball/softball, flag football, lacrosse, breakdancing, karate, kickboxing, squash, and motorsport.

ICC ODI Standings: New Zealand suffered heavy losses in the ODI series after losing to India to top the rankings.

New Zealand suffered an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of India on Saturday in the second ODI at Raipur’s Shahid Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.

New Zealand suffered heavy losses from this defeat and lost their top spot in the ICC ODI rankings. The England team is in the first place.

The New Zealand team took first place ahead of the second ODI. He scored 115 points. The England team was second with 113 points and Australia was third with 112 points.

The Indian team finished fourth with 111 points. There has been a noticeable change in the equation since India’s victory in the second ODI.

New Zealand fell to second and India moved up one spot to third. In the 2nd ODI on Saturday, India beat New Zealand by 8 wickets off 179 balls.

New Zealand topped the table and the whole team scored 108 runs off 34.3 overs. In response, the Indian team hit the mark by losing two wickets in 20.1 overs.

The Indian team thus took a 2–0 lead in the three-match series. The third and final ODI of the series will be played at Indore on Tuesday.
