Home Minister Amit Shah arrives in Chennai and will lay the foundation stone of many projects in Puducherry today.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Chennai on Saturday night after Bihar.

Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Sundararajan on Saturday said Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Puducherry would be a “milestone” in the development of the Union Territory.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, he said the Union Home Minister would lay the foundation stone of several projects during his visit to Puducherry on Sunday.

Describing Amit Shah’s visit as a historic event, Sundararajan said it will strengthen Puducherry in its development activities.

She added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Home Minister are extending full cooperation for the development of the Union Territory.

During his visit, Shah will lay the foundation stone of the new bus terminal along with the multi-story tenement project and other projects developed by the regional government.

Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive at Puducherry airport on Sunday and will be received by the Lieutenant Governor, Chief Minister N Rangasamy, his cabinet colleagues, MLAs, and officials.

He is expected to reach Puducherry at 10 am.

Amit Shah will drive to the research center Aurobindo Ashram along with the Subramaniam Bharati memorial and address the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of philosopher-cum-saint Aurobindo at Pondicherry University.

He will also lay the foundation stone of the buildings of the Departments of Physics and Chemistry and Food Science and Technology of Pondicherry University.

Shah will address BJP’s Puducherry unit office-bearers and MLAs at the party office in the afternoon before concluding his one-day visit.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on loudspeaker controversy, that everyone should follow the law.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said directions have been issued to resolve the loudspeaker dispute “consonantly”.

The Chief Minister said on Friday that instructions have been issued to resolve the problem of loudspeakers amicably by holding a peace committee meeting at the police station level. Everyone should follow the law.
