The slain terrorist has been identified as Firoz Ahmed Dar and belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist organization.

The security forces have taken the body of the terrorist and the weapons recovered from him.

At present, the search operation of the security forces is going on due to the apprehension of the presence of more terrorists in the area.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar has also confirmed the death of a terrorist in the Pulwama encounter. According to local sources, the identity of the slain terrorist is being told as Firoz Ahmed Dar.

Firoz was active in Kashmir since 2017 and was wanted in many cases. The police was looking for him for a long time.

However, the police department has not officially given any information in this regard. Firoz, belonging to the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen, was a resident of Pulwama.

The information about the hiding of the terrorist was received by the police around 12 o’clock last night. Police came to know that a terrorist is hiding in the Usgam Pathri area of ​​Pulwama.

SOG personnel reached there with a joint team of Army and CRPF and started a search operation by cordoning off the area.

During the search operation, the terrorist started firing on the security forces while targeting them.

The security forces, taking their positions, gave the terrorist an opportunity to surrender before retaliating to the firing, but the process of firing from them continued.

The encounter was postponed till morning due to darkness. In the early hours of today, once again the security forces asked the terrorist to lay down his arms.

But this time too when he continued to fire in retaliation, the security forces gunned him down.

However, on Monday, two terrorists were also killed during an encounter by security forces in the Rangreth area adjoining Srinagar.

Three jawans were sacrificed in this attack while 12 are still being treated at the Srinagar Military Hospital.
