The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in 11 districts of Kerala, including the capital Thiruvananthapuram, in view of the low air pressure area forming in the Arabian Sea.

These districts also include Kottayam and Idukki. If there is heavy rain then the situation in both the districts will become serious.

Heavy rain is expected for three to four days.

Heavy rains are also expected in interior parts of Karnataka and South Tamil Nadu.

According to the alert issued by the Meteorological Department, this situation is likely to persist for the next three to four days. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea along the coast.
