During the hearing in Lucknow on March 19, the CBI had submitted an application in the court seeking transfer of the case from Hathras to another court in the state.

The victim’s family lawyer Seema Kushwaha said that now the High Court will decide what to do in the next hearing.

The woman died on the morning of 29 September. His last rites were performed at night, for which there were demonstrations across the country.
