The suspects in the August 2019 shooting, which injured two dozen other people, were charged with both state and federal crimes, which officials said was an attempt to intimidate Hispanic people in the US.

The FBI has also stated that last year, 5,512 incidents involving hate were classified as crimes against individuals, 2,811 as crimes against property and 236 as crimes against society.
