Government’s big statement on terrorism, the Ministry of Home Affairs told the situation of terrorist incidents in Parliament.
After the targeted attacks by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few months, there is concern among the people that terrorism has again started increasing rapidly in the country.
But the government has made it clear that there has been a decrease in terrorist incidents in the country in the last two-three years.
Apart from this, to bring down the incidents related to terrorism, the government has adopted the policy of zero tolerance, due to which there is a continuous decrease in these cases.
The Union Home Ministry has said this in a written reply to Parliament.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, there has been a huge reduction in terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir after 2018.
229 terrorist incidents in 2021 as against 417 in 2018.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, has said that there has been a decrease in terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir after 2018.
According to the data, in 2021 i.e. last year there were 229 terrorist attacks in which 42 security personnel were martyred and 41 civilians also lost their lives in these incidents.
On the other hand, if we talk about 2020, this year 62 security personnel were martyred in 244 terrorist attacks and 37 civilians were killed.
In 2019, there were 255 terrorist attacks in which 80 security personnel were martyred and 39 civilians lost their lives.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the government has adopted the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism, for which many strict steps have been taken and new initiatives have also been started.
The government said that this is the reason why there were 417 terrorist incidents in 2018, while in 2021 it came down to 229.
Government’s big statement on terrorism: 77 percent reduction in incidents of Naxalite violence.
The Home Ministry also said that there has been a steady decrease in Naxalite violence in the country.
According to the Home Ministry, 2258 incidents of Left Wing Extremism-related violence were reported in 2009. It has now come down by 77%.
In 2021, the incidents of left-wing and extremism have come down to 509. In the year 2010, 1005 people died in Naxal violence, which has come down by 85% to 147 in 2021.
According to the Home Ministry, the geographical spread of Naxal violence has also decreased.
Left Wing Extremism-related violence has been reported in only 46 districts in 2021 as compared to 96 days in 2010.
