Government will start sea plane service on various routes, many tourist places will be included: Mandavia.

The government will start services of airplanes on several routes. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya gave information in this regard on Thursday.

It may be noted that recently the country’s first maritime service has started from ‘Statue of Unity’ near Kevadia in Gujarat to Sabarmati River Front in Ahmedabad.

Mansukh Mandaviya is the Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways. He said that the proposed routes include Delhi-Jaipur, Delhi-Udaipur, Delhi-Jodhpur, and other routes including Delhi-Badrinath.

Mandavia said that it would be developed in cooperation between the port, shipping and waterways, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The minister said that the proposed services would also cover several islands of Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep, from Guwahati Riverfront, Yamuna Riverfront / Delhi (as center) to Ayodhya, Tishri, Srinagar (Uttarakhand), Chandigarh, and many other tourist destinations.

Central Public Enterprises Sagarmala Development Company Ltd. (SDCL), which comes under the Ministry of Shipping, has invited letters of interest from airline operators for seaplane service. According to the ministry, no separate budget has been made available for this initiative so far.

Earlier, Mandavia said that 14 more water aerodromes have been planned under RCS-UDAN (Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik).

On 31 October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first seaplane service between the Statue of Unity and Sabarmati Riverfront near Kevadia in Gujarat’s Narmada district.

At Chabahar port in Iran, Mandavia said that India has started operations there and it will reduce logistics costs by bypassing China and Europe in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries in container transport.
