G23 Group Of Congress Raised Questions On High Command

G23 group of Congress raised sharp questions on High Command.

On the failure of Punjab, the Congress high command surrounded itself by criticism, G23 made sharp questions to the party leadership.

The failure of the party’s high command to gauge Sidhu’s politics in Punjab has rekindled the turmoil in the top organization of Congress.

G23, a group of disgruntled Congress leaders, has directly surrounded the leadership over this failure, saying that when there is no elected president in the party, it is not known who is making the decisions.

Former Union Minister Kapil Sibal, a senior member of G23, said that people are leaving the party and even dialogue is not being opened to improve the worrisome condition of the Congress.

Sibal said we will raise the issue.

Directly targeting the high command, Sibal said that we are not 23. We will not remain silent till Congress overcomes the present challenge.

At the same time, Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is leading the G23, has also written a letter again to  Sonia Gandhi, demanding a meeting of the working committee and election of the Congress president.

While confirming Azad’s letter, Sibal also openly demanded the early election of the Speaker.

Angered by Navjot Singh Sidhu’s dismissal of an old trusted stalwart like Captain Amarinder Singh for his tantrums, G23 has launched an open attack on the top leadership.

Ghulam Nabi again wrote a letter to Sonia on behalf of the dissidents.

Kapil Sibal said in the press conference that we will keep talking about strengthening the Congress. We believe that Congress is the only party that can save the democracy of the country.

He said that the meeting of the working committee should be called soon and the election of the Congress President should be conducted.

Sibal, while confirming that Azad had sent another fresh letter to Sonia Gandhi in this regard.

He said that he was speaking on behalf of the leaders who had served as the Congress President along with the Congress Working Committee and the Central Election Committee in August last year.

We are still waiting for the decision on this and there is a limit to this wait.

No president in a party, don’t know who is taking decisions: Sibal.

Raising an indirect question on Rahul Gandhi taking big political decisions with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra without being the party president, Sibal said that every issue should be discussed in the working committee.

We are not against anyone. We are with the party but it is also a fact that there is no elected president of our party. It is not known who is taking the decision.

He also raised questions about controlling and running the state Congress from Delhi.

Taking a jibe at the people close to the high command leaving the party, Sibal said that we are not the ones who leave the party and go somewhere else.

The irony is that those who were considered close to the central leadership are leaving the party. I urge those leaders to come back because Congress is the only party that can save the country.

Sibal said that in view of the present condition of the party, he is raising these things with a very heavy heart.

We cannot silently watch the present condition of the Congress and the condition the party is in today, it should not have been there.

Questioning the party’s big decisions being taken together by a few people, he said that neither the party nor the democratic power can run by sitting at the table of 20 people.

It is clear from Sibal’s outspoken attack and Ghulam Nabi Azad’s letter to Sonia Gandhi that the latest tussle in Punjab has opened the way for a new rift in the top organization of the Congress.

Another member of G23, Lok Sabha MP Manish Tewari, termed the latest phase of political instability in Punjab as “unwelcome” and pointed out the lapse of leadership in indirectly playing bets on Sidhu.
