On September 2, the Supreme Court asked an NGO to take up the issue of the alleged Hindu-Sikh genocide in Kashmir from 1989 to 2003 with the central government and other competent authorities.
The NGO, We the Citizens, in its petition had sought the setting up of a special investigation team that would identify the elements responsible and involved in the alleged genocide of the Hindu-Sikh community in Kashmir.
The petition was heard by a bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice CT Ravi Kumar.
Representatives of Panun Kashmir, Roots in Kashmir, Youth for Panun Kashmir, and Kashmiri Committee Delhi held a meeting recently.
In this, the strategy to get justice for the Kashmiri Hindu and Sikh communities has been discussed.
The representatives of Kashmir Hindu organizations, who were present in the meeting, have decided that a delegation will meet the Center and the Jammu and Kashmir state governments at the earliest.

We will do everything possible to get justice. Those who are responsible for the Hindu-Sikh genocide in Kashmir should be punished.
