A 30-year-old woman allegedly strangled her two sons to death on Friday and later attempted to commit suicide by jumping into a lake, Sangareddy Superintendent of Police (SP) M Raman Kumar said.

He said the woman took this step because both the children, aged six and four, were suffering from life-threatening diseases.

The woman was rescued by fishermen and taken to a hospital where she is undergoing treatment. Before jumping into the lake, she took a selfie on her mobile and sent it to her husband.

Supreme Court advises husband to behave well with his wife, know what is the whole matter

The Supreme Court on Tuesday advised a man to be kind to his divorced wife, with whom he was fighting a legal battle for the last 21 years, to save his marriage and close the criminal case.

The court said that this much-publicized case will encourage more people to settle their matrimonial disputes amicably.

A bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana had on July 28 made extra efforts to get the estranged couple from Andhra Pradesh to agree to live together again.

The Chief Justice had spoken to the woman in Telugu and convinced her to withdraw her plea for enhancement of her husband’s sentence in the dowry harassment case.

The husband and wife were then asked to file separate affidavits in two weeks, giving an undertaking that they wanted to live together and would withdraw the cases filed against each other.

When the matter came up for hearing again on Tuesday, it was found that due to some technical difficulties, separate affidavits have not been filed by them.

Simultaneously, the woman urged the Chief Justice to instruct her husband to behave well with her in her in-laws’ house.
