FCRA license of Kerala NGO Markajul Egasathil Cariyathil Hindia suspended, seven accounts frozen, know the reason.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended the FCRA license of Kerala-based NGO Markajul Egasathil Cariyathil Hindia following evidence of misappropriation of foreign donations.

Not only this but seven bank accounts of NGOs have also been frozen. A notice has also been issued to the NGO.

If the answer is not satisfactory, the license may also be canceled. According to sources, this NGO receives foreign donations of about Rs 200 crore annually.

Also accused of giving false information.

It is said that this donation was used by people associated with the NGO to buy private vehicles and for personal expenses.

For example, this NGO made a deal to buy land for Rs 50 lakh with foreign donations. Later the deal was canceled but that money was not deposited in the account of the NGO.

When information was sought in this regard, the NGO said that Rs 50 lakh was distributed in cash to orphans.

Cannot buy a private vehicle.

However, the NGO’s documents clearly show that cash was distributed to orphans between July and December 2014.

Whereas on January 13, 2015, the NGO had received Rs 50 lakh in cash due to the cancellation of the land deal.

Many vehicles were bought with foreign donations, but not a single one of them was bought in the name of an NGO, but in the name of an individual.

Whereas according to FCRA rules, NGO money cannot be used to buy private vehicles.

Nothing to do with land and lease and made the building.

An example of how Markajul Igasathil Kariyathil Hahdia misused foreign donations is the Islamic Education Board of India building in Kozhikode.

The Islamic Education Board of India had taken this land on lease from the Waqf Board, but the building was constructed by the NGO with foreign donations.

Whereas he had nothing to do with land and lease even far and wide.

The first case of suspension of FCRA license.

According to the data available on the website of the ministry, this is the case during the Corona period when the FCRA license of an NGO has been suspended.

Earlier in February 2020, licenses of six NGOs were suspended for misusing foreign donations.

Licenses of 20 thousand NGOs were canceled in 10 years.

Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha during the budget session in February.

Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai had said that FCRA licenses of over 20,600 NGOs have been canceled in the last 10 years due to misappropriation of funds and non-submission of annual income returns.
