EVMs Will Come From Four States For UP Assembly Elections

EVMs will come from four states for UP assembly elections, Covid nodal officers will be posted.

The Election Commission of India, which is preparing for the 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, has allotted EVMs of four states for Uttar Pradesh.

This time two lakh EVMs from Maharashtra, Bihar, Delhi, and Chhattisgarh will come to UP for voting. UP has demanded about one lakh more EVMs.

Also, keeping in mind the corona infection, officers of the Medical and Health Department will be made Covid nodal officers in all the assembly constituencies.

Nodal officers will strictly follow the Covid-19 guidelines in their respective areas.

In view of the Corona transition, the Election Commission of India has given instructions to make one polling booth for 1200 voters instead of 1500.

Under this, there will be about 1.85 lakh polling booths in the state. The Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh has demanded about 2.93 lakh EVMs for so many polling booths.

Out of this, two lakh EVMs have been allotted by the Election Commission of India. Next month, Uttar Pradesh will order EVMs from these states.

Warehouses for keeping EVMs and VVPATs have also been made ready in most of the districts of the state.

In Uttar Pradesh this time also EVMs of both the companies, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) will be used.

Polling will be conducted by BEL machines in 54 districts and ECIL machines in 21 districts. After the arrival of EVMs next month, their first level checking will be done.

At the same time, the Election Commission of India has asked to take special care of the Covid protocol during the elections. Accordingly, instructions have been given to make all the preparations.

The Election Commission of India, which is busy in the preparations for the assembly elections, is also serious about increasing the voting percentage.

In order to increase the voting percentage, the commission has now started focusing on those seats, where there has been less turnout in the last elections.

The commission will conduct a special awareness campaign by identifying low polling booths there. Voters will be motivated to vote more and more.

In areas where the ratio of female and male voters is low, special attention will be given to increase it. Along with this, the number of service voters will also be increased in all the assembly constituencies.
