EV Car India: Tata Motors Is The Largest Company In EV Segment

EV Car India: Preparations for a big fight in the electric car market, Tata Motors, the largest company in the segment, KIA’s focus on providing an easy charging facility.

Tata Motors and Hyundai Electric, which are flagging in the field of petrol and diesel, are looking ahead in preparation for the launch of cars.

At the same time, companies like Toyota and Volkswagen seem to be gearing up for the time being.

It is believed that by 2030, 30 percent of the cars sold in the Indian market will be electric. However, it is difficult to say who will be the leader of the auto market then.

Going by the preparations, Toyota Kirloskar has claimed that it will launch a completely made-in-India EV and that too within a very short span of time.

The company claims that its car will be for the common Indians and from its design to manufacturing, the work will be completely done in India.

EV Car India: Tata Motors continues to be the largest company in the Indian EV market with its two models. 

In the year 2022-23, 35 lakh cars are expected to be sold in the country, out of which 5 percent i.e. 70 thousand are likely to be EVs.

Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President and Head (Sales and Marketing), Kia Motors India, engaged in creating a special electric passenger car for Indian customers.

He says that by the year 2030, 50-55 lakh cars will be sold in India, of which 30 percent i.e. There will be 15 lakh EVs. This is a huge market that all companies are eyeing.

The main focus of the company is on this time that the charging facility is easily available to the general public. The company is also trying to reduce the cost of EV batteries.

Toyota to make fully developed EVs in India

Vikram Gulati, Executive Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, told that his company will launch an EV for the general customers here keeping in mind the Indian customer and the Indian environment completely.

Gulati explains that the effort is not only to make an EV for India, but it will be such an EV in which the work of recycling old EVs from design to manufacture and marketing is done in such a way that the environment is very less.

Since the company plans to sell its electric passenger car across the country as well as in non-urban areas, it is also going to make major changes in its marketing structure.

The company will make the battery for the EV in India itself and will also prepare its recycling structure.

Gulati also points out that the Indian EV plant for Toyota will be a major hub for exporting EVs to the world.

Hyundai to launch first India-made EV in 2024

Talking about Hyundai, it has informed about plans to launch six new EVs by the year 2028 with an investment of Rs 4000 crore.

Company officials say that their first EV developed in India may arrive in the year 2024. Hyundai is also looking at India as the hub of its EVs.

Talking about Tata Motors, its Nexon is the leader of the EV market right now but it is basically a petrol car. For the first time, the company will launch a fully EV model in the market by the year 2025.
