The Election Commission is holding a press conference on Sunday regarding allegations made by Rahul Gandhi. Many officials, including Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, are present.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said, “According to the Constitution of India, every citizen of India who has attained the age of 18 years should become a voter and should also vote. You are all aware that, according to the law, every political party is established through registration with the Election Commission. Then how can the Election Commission discriminate between similar political parties?”

He further said that for the Election Commission, there is neither any opposition nor any party. All are equal. No matter which political party one belongs to, the Election Commission will not shy away from its constitutional duty.

SIR is being done to correct errors: Election Commission

Gyanesh Kumar further said that it is not right to use wrong words like vote theft. The Indian Constitution is being disparaged throughout the nation. SIR is being used to fix mistakes. The Election Commission has seven crore voters in Bihar. Only those whose names are on the voter list are voting. Politics is being done in the country by keeping a gun on the shoulder of the Election Commission. Insulting the public is an insult to the Constitution.

He said, “At the ground level, all the voters, all the political parties, and all the booth level officers are working together transparently, doing verification, signing, and also giving video testimonials.”

According to the Chief Election Commissioner, there is cause for grave concern that these verified documents, testimonies of political party district presidents, and the BLOs they have nominated are either not getting to their state or national level leaders, or that an effort is being made to create confusion by ignoring the reality on the ground.
