ED filed preliminary charge sheet against Binish Kodiyeri.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a preliminary charge sheet in the money laundering case against Binish Kodiyeri and three others, son of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, former state secretary of the CPI (M) ‘s Kerala unit.

In its 500-page charge sheet handed over to the PMLA Special Court on Saturday, the ED has said that one of the four accused in the case, Muhammad Anoop, was working for Bineesh.

The ED has also accused Bineesh of running a benami hotel in the name of Anoop. The other accused in the case are Anikha D. and Rijesh Ravindran.

The ED arrested Balakrishnan’s younger son Bineesh in the case on October 29. He was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on 17 November.

At that time he was in judicial custody in the ED case. The NCB sought his custody with the Drug Fraud Network to ascertain his contact.

Binish, a close aide of Muhammad Anoop, transferred more than Rs 50 lakh to his account.

Kerala Church Dispute: PM Modi to meet Jacobite faction today, try to mediate the dispute

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet representatives of the rival Jacobite Syrian Church on Tuesday.

Earlier on Monday, a faction of Malankara Orthodox Church met PM Modi on Monday.

During this time the delegation intervened in the matter and demanded the implementation of the Supreme Court order in 2017.

Explain that there is a dispute between the two churches over the possession of more than a thousand churches in the state.

The Governor of Mizoram has also held several rounds of informal talks with people from both the factions of the church.

On Monday, three bishops of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church met PM Modi.

He told PM Modi that there is a provision in the order of the Supreme Court to give him more than one thousand churches in Kerala and their properties. That order should be implemented.

Earlier, the CPI (M) -led government of Kerala had tried to resolve the dispute between the two factions but was not successful.

More than a thousand churches in dispute are currently occupied by the Jacobite faction.

It says that the people of the Malankara Church are misrepresenting the order of the Supreme Court. They want to capture the churches unfairly.
