ED Arrested One More In 1,100 Crore Hawala Scam

ED arrested one more in 1,100 crore hawala scam, CBI raids in several states in bank fraud cases.

The ED has arrested the cryptocurrency trader Nasar Kothari in connection with the money laundering involving the Rs 1,100 crore online betting and international hawala scam.

The special PMLA court sent him to ED custody for 10 days. On the other hand, Central Investigation Agency CBI raided seven places in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Karnataka on Friday.

According to the leading news agency , this step has been taken in two cases of bank fraud.

In the case of tightening of the cryptocurrency trader Nassar Kothari, the ED is said to have investigated the case based on the FIR of the Hyderabad CCS Police.

According to the report, on the basis of an FIR lodged by the Hyderabad CCS Police on the complaint of a man who lost his money by investing on the Satta app.

The ED registered a case of money laundering against Linkyun Technology Private Limited and Dockipe Private Limited and others.

The agency investigated that these Chinese companies are involved in international hawala and illegal activities.

In this case, three people including a Chinese citizen have been arrested earlier and a charge sheet has been filed against them in the PMLA court.

The ED said that further investigation revealed that huge amount was unnecessarily transferred to the cryptocurrency traders based in Bhavnagar.

It was revealed in this sequence that Kothari bought USDT cryptocurrency on behalf of the accused companies and sent them to unknown wallets in the form of foreign currency.

On the other hand, in two other cases of bank fraud, CBI raided seven places in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka on Friday.

A CBI official said that the agency conducted searches at four locations in Ahmedabad and Anand in Gujarat.

These include the offices and residential premises of Syona Colors Private Limited and its Managing Director Paresh Dayalbhai Patel, Shamrock Chemie Private Limited.

The action has been taken in connection with the alleged fraud of Rs 71.88 crore with State Bank of India. The CBI has registered a case on December 7 on SBI’s complaint.

CBI also raided three locations in Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bangalore in a Rs 57.28 crore fraud case with Bank of Baroda. The CBI registered a case in this regard on December 2.
