Defense-Call to Action: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday delivered the inaugural address in the post-Budget webinar.

Confidence of soldiers at new heights with equipment made in India, respect the feelings of soldiers – PM Modi.

Modi said that the self-reliance that India has been emphasizing in its defense sector for the last few years. You will see his commitment in this year’s budget as well.

He said that even during the period of slavery and immediately after independence, we had a lot of defense manufacturing power.

Weapons made in India played a big role in the Second World War. However, in later years our strength weakened.

Should understand the feelings of the soldiers.

The PM said that this year’s budget has a blueprint for developing a vibrant ecosystem from research, design, and development to manufacturing within the country.

About 70% of the defense budget has been kept for domestic industry only.

When we bring weapons from outside, its process is so long that by the time they reach our security forces, many of them are out of date.

Its solution is also in the ‘Self-reliant India campaign’ and ‘Make in India’.

Today our army has equipment made in India, so their confidence, their pride also reaches new heights.

In this, we should also understand the feelings of the soldiers standing on the border.

Soldiers have different self-respect about things made in India. So we should respect the spirit of our soldiers for our defense equipment. We can do this only when we are self-reliant.

Defense-Call to Action: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered the inaugural address:

Modi said that the strength of India’s IT is our great strength. The more we use this power in our defense sector, the more confident we will be in our security.

As cyber security is no longer limited to the digital world only. It has become a matter of national security.

In earlier times, the goods which were bought from outside companies were often used to face various allegations. Every purchase caused controversy.

The competition between different manufacturers also opens the doors of corruption. We also get solutions for this through the self-reliant India campaign.

Our ordnance factories are a great example of what results come when we move forward with determination with full sincerity.

Last year we created 7 new Defense Public Undertakings. Today they are expanding business rapidly, reaching new markets.

Modi said that in the last 5-6 years, we have increased defense exports 6 times. Today we are providing Made in India Defense goods and services to more than 75 countries.

As a result of the government’s encouragement to Make in India, more than 350 new industry licenses have been issued for defense production in the last 7 years.

Whereas in the 14 years from 2001 to 2014, only 200 licenses were issued.
