Congress Important Meeting, But No Solution Found

Congress Important Meeting: Talk on arrogance in Congress but no solution found, disgruntled leaders remain adamant.

The important meeting called by the party president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday to stop the internal infighting on the question of leadership from the Congress organization.

She went ahead to discuss the issues of the dispute, but according to the results, no solution has yet been found.

The party high command immediately accepted suggestions such as calling a thinking camp to improve the direction of the Congress.

But the leaders of the disgruntled G-23 faction are still adamant on their talk of the formation of Congress Parliamentary Board and collective leadership in the party.

Applause rang in Rahul’s name, dissident leader remained silent

Perhaps this is why dissident leaders remained silent when leaders close to the leadership raised applause for Rahul Gandhi to be re-elected Congress president, but avoided objecting to it.

It was agreed between the party high command and the disgruntled camp that this round of talks would continue further to resolve the current crisis of the Congress.

Issues to be resolved

Sonia Gandhi held a five-hour-long meeting with these leaders for the first time at 10 Janpath following a letter dispute with leaders of disgruntled groups on the weakening ground of the Congress with long-standing confusion about leadership.

It was attended by some close leaders of the high command, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra along with G-23 leaders.

According to sources, Ghulam Nabi Azad, who was leading the dissident camp in the meeting, finally said that while the discussion on the issues raised in the letter started, they are yet to be resolved.

So why a five-hour meeting

Pointing to the current serious challenges faced by the Congress, Azad raised the issue of collective leadership with an inclusive view in the party.

The disgruntled group leader also questioned the party’s official spokesperson’s claim that there was no dispute in the party after the presidential election process began, saying why there was no five-hour meeting when there was no dispute.

Parliamentary board needs to be constituted: Chidambaram

Sources said P. Chidambaram, who was playing a neutral role in the current Congress crisis, said in the meeting that the formation of a party parliamentary board is an unavoidable need.

Congress is proving incapable of stopping unilateral political dialogue in the country.

The Parliamentary Board is necessary to answer the BJP’s challenge by immediately deciding the party’s perspective on important national, economic, and political subjects.

Chidambaram termed the formation of district, block, and booth level committees as inevitable to repair the existing weak structure of the organization.

Sonia-Priyanka showed readiness to celebrate

Sources said that Sonia and Priyanka Gandhi showed greater warmth and readiness in this meeting over reconciliation with disgruntled leaders.

Sonia said that the Congress is a big family and we all have to work together to solve the party’s challenges.

At the same time, the essence of Priyanka’s comments was that so many senior leaders in the party cannot be kept angry.

Hooda raised questions on the appointment of secretaries.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who was included in the G-23.

He questioned steps like the appointment of a large number of secretaries in the Congress organization, saying that many of them do not even recognize the guards of the AICC.

He said that no matter how small the number is, but known faces should be given such responsibility.

However, at the end of the meeting, the two camps agreed in principle to work together to strengthen the Congress and its ideology.

Anand Sharma, Manish Tiwari, Vivek Tankha, Shashi Tharoor, and leaders near the High Command included Harish Rawat, Pawan Bansal, Bhakta Charan Das, etc. from the dissident camp.
